New Library Catalogue

For those of you who are returning to College for another year, you may notice that the library catalogue has changed. We are currently working on creating an all new library search engine that, when you enter a search term, not only searches the library stock at all six site libraries but also searches almost all of the libraries online databases and e-journals! This will make doing your research a lot quicker and easier. Hopefully this new search engine will be up and running in the next few months.

In the meantime, we hope you will agree that the current library catalogue is easy to use. Once you have run a search, you can refine your search results by material type (e.g. books, e-books, DVDs, etc) or location (only a particular site library or libraries) using the options on the right of the screen.

When you run a search and have a list of results, click on an item’s title to see the location and availability details. From this screen, you can also reserve the item if it is out on loan or only available at another site (in which case it will sent over to a site of your choice for you to collect). To reserve an item, click on ‘Reserve this item’.

You will then need to enter your ID number and library pin (also necessary when renewing items on your account online), further details can be found on the How to place a reservation page. Once you have set up a login, you can then manage your library account, reserve and renew items online using the My Account page.

  1. Hi,

I work at City College Norwich – can I ask who use for your catalogue as we would love to be able to search like this! (We are currently using Heritage).

    Many thanks
    Amy
