New look e-book platform

When accessing e-books through the library webpages, you may notice some changes to our supplier’s website (Dawsonera). The new Dawsonera platform is much more user friendly and allows you to save an e-book to your own personal bookshelf by clicking on the small grey star opposite the e-book’s title. E-books placed on your bookshelf can be accessed quickly and easily without having to go back into the library webpages – your bookshelf is displayed in the right-hand margin, along with e-books you have recently viewed. The Read Online and Download options are now presented as icons underneath the description of the e-book.

The new platform also allows you to turn the pages of an e-book without having to scroll up and down, and enlarge the e-book by hiding the contents in the left-hand margin – just click on the small grey arrow tab at the top of the margin. Furthermore, e-books can now be downloaded onto Apple and Android mobile and tablet devices.

Please contact your site library for more information or training, or take a look at the E-book help page.
